Gifts from Balmoral

Our daughter & SIL we’re up in Braemar last weekend visiting their friends. They took time out & the opportunity to take a free tour of Balmoral Castle & gardens.
They have been walks round there many times over the years but never been as close up before.
They came for their supper last night with Lydia & Connie & had brought gifts!

A good thing, lovely family evening catching up with all the news.
We always saw Queenie with a scarf over her head when she was at Balmoral! A very English style. Some nice choices for gifts from your daughter!

The photo is lovely isn’t it….the Queen was the only lady who,
I knew that still wore a headscarf….very popular years ago but only seen the queen in one recently! ! Her signature look I think!

A nice photo of the queen. She obviously loved her horses.

What a lovely, thoughtful set of pressies from Balmoral. Ballochbuie is the woodland around Balmoral, and an area we walk in quite often. I love that photo of the Queen; so natural, and so much in her happy place. Funny how headscarves have never really made a come back! I remember my mum used to wear one - never with quite the panache as the Queen, however!

@jamibann We wondered where the name Ballochbuie came from Issi so thank you!
