I picked Harry up at 8 pm last night.
His arm was just coming round from the block he had on it to numb the whole arm.
He’s had carpel tunnel op plus his Dupuytrens contracture at the same time.
Two completely different procedures normally done under a general anaesthetic but Harry had a sort of epidural but in his arm.
It’s very sore & he’s on painkillers of course plus penicillin.
He’s also git a cast on which apparently dissolves itself!
Stitches out in ten days & he has been told to do nothing!! He would be a fool not to follow that advice!
I just pray it’s successful & he gets some feeling back in his hand…..same for the other one next!
So sorry to hear about his dual operations and hope he recovers speedily and completely! Our son has that Dupuytren's contracture also and it is so bothersome. They won't do surgery on it until it gets more severe. :-(
We have our fingers crossed it all heals quickly for Harry. You will be on nursing duties for a wee while Pat. I hope Harry has lots of good reading material and some interesting tv to watch to keep him from using that hand.
At first sight of your image, I thought 'broken arm' ... but was relieved to read that it was a planned op. I do hope Harry heals quickly and well. Look after him and make sure he looks after himself too!!! x
