An excellent evening listening to about forty members of Poulton’s People’s choir.
I’ve always fancied joining a choir but time when we were farming didn’t encourage such things.
I can’t sing but I think if we practice voices improve.
They looked a happy jolly group & no audition necessary to join.
If I was ten years younger I might have had a go.
You are spot on. I am a musician and passionate about singing. For most people who think they cannot sing, confidence and practice will show them they can 👍
Lovely sanctuary! I don't have much of a singing voice, either, but do love to sing and listen to music. Sang in a youth choir at church for a bit as a teen. The Bible just tells us to "make a joyful noise". So, Pat, I think we might both be able to do that! 😊🤗
@bjywamer I think we can Barb, as @casablanca says practice does wonders! I used to be in the church choir when a teenager but we weren’t very professional. 🤣🤣
Beautiful photo. I like to sing too, but have never had the courage or the time (yet) to join a choir. Good for the soul to sing your heart out, I think.

I’m sure with time & growing confidence we could all be choir members….go for it those of you young enough to start a new interest in life! The oldest in this choir looked in their seventies, youngest in the forties I would say.
The choir master sitting at the front on the key board was excellent….funny & encouraging.
Beautiful shot and church scene. I once when I was a boy joined the parish choir until, our maestro discovered that I was out of tune and asked me to leave.
Me too! I think if we sing with others, we get better! I love to sing but hate to hear myself. This photo is iconic! I feel I should have the same experience!
@maggiemae You are right maggie….i think I will give it a miss though. I have enough on in my life just now plus it would be a drive out in the evening I expect & I don’t do night driving so much now.
