Far from the Maddening Crowd !

Taken on a weekend away in the Corromandel this is Max's first proper holiday by the South Pacific Sea. They only live about 30 miles from the Tasman Sea but it is quite volcanic with dark sand on their side of NZ.
The beach is fairly quiet as you can see !!!
I hope they got there really early to put their towels down!!! What a place! My sister sighs regularly over the beaches in NZ... Have you got another visit planned?

@judithg Yes our Golden Wedding next year so we are taking our daughter & family for Christmas next year...hopefully !!! I might just pop across for a couple of weeks or so on my own in February next year.. it seems a long time to wait until Max is nearly 2 1/2 before I see him again!! They grow so quickly at this age I think it matters to go a little bit more often !

@happypat That sounds like a great idea - then you'll see the difference in both trips!

Isn't it lovely to see summer days at the other side of the world! Reminds me this November gloom is only temporary. Max looks well kitted out!

Wonderful shot. Great combination of action on the bike with a gorgeous background vista. Not sure how you managed to take it next February though!

Pat, I don't know how I missed this one. It's a great photo and I am glad to read you'll be visiting your family in NZ soon - I was going to ask about that. I have never been but maybe one of these days...
