This is super! How strange and lonely it looks, and not a soul there! Love the split of the shot with blue sky and sand with the structure leading into the centre. Great one!
@aglennc@jesperani Thank you both , I had a good tramp across the sands & took a load of dry sand into the rather posh waiting rooms when I collected Harry from his MRI scan!
An open air staging for a summer festival !!! What a shame this solid ? looking structure is so alone, going nowhere, Odd & somewhat eerie Unusual to say the least -- good find Pat
@busylady the Pier was extended in 1891 by this bit Judith & it did look very solid today, there were signs banning you from climbing on it of course but considering it will be under water regularly it will last a long time yet!
@ellida Slighly before your time Graham, in 1883 they started dredging the mouth of the Ribble for better access to the Preston Docks so the pier was abandoned. Think I have got that right...I look it up on Google then forget!!!
I do exactly the same, Pat - look up on google then flick to where I want to say something and forget one or two words so its back to google again! I will really have to try harder! This is very interesting!
Wonderful capture.
