My newish glasses came apart suddenly today....very disappointing when I have only had them 8 months.
Harry rightly said if I had bought them from out local opticians as I normally do it would have been a quick pop in to Garstang to get them fixed.
Instead I had a nightmare trip to Blackpool in all the holiday crowds & complete bedlam round Talbot road where they are re paving the road & three very large office blocks & shopping areas being built.
After all that they have to send them away to be mended so another trip back into town in a few days.
Tony was delivering the letters when they broke so bless him he had a go trying to mend them!!
An unusual shot - like the concentration! (I've had 4 pairs of glasses on this prescription. Bits break off and fall to pieces, they are heavy and uncomfortable........
So good to find a man --who can !! ( at least give it a go !! ) Isn't a pain when things don't last as they should !! and specs are not cheap either !! I've just had new ones & will have to take them back to refit as they make behind my ears sore !! So at the mo I'm back in my old ones !!
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel, if I had bought some better constructed specs instead of these designer type ones the optician could have just screwed them back without returning them to the makers!! I am rather alarmed how quickly they broke, they were expensive too!
Great shot! And what a helpful postman.....they make all the difference to people! Reminding me I need to go to the optician.....and will keep your story in mind if I need new specs for driving/distance!
He's a good lad - your post looks more exciting than ours - I found the credit card bill in the lounge half eaten by Monty - we wondered whether we could use that as an excuse with the bank!
@judithg Funnily enough non of this post was ours Judith, it belonged to next door but wanted signing for. Credit card bills are only fit to be eaten by dogs!!
I was beginning to think it was me, but it obviously isn't!
