I thought you might be interested to see Lily from above.
As you can see she has a very twisted back & has had since she was born.
it wasn't noticeable when she was a kitten but got worse as she grew. The vet said she might not do much good but she is now 14 & going strong.
She also has no tail as one day Harry reached up to switch the milking machine on at 6am in the morning & she must have been sleeping on the warm engine overnight & her tail got caught in the belt.
We had to have it amputated but although as you can see very ugly she has a very sweet nature & a beautiful face.
What a lucky cat to have found a home with Harry & you her twisted back obviously doesnt give her pain Pat !! Next doors cat adopted us & we mutually adopted Wellie with our neighbor's permission, when they moved house & Wellie would not settle but kept coming back to us - In his mid teens he had been in a fight ( he was a night roamer !!) -his tail was broken & he also had his tail amputated --but he lived on to a ripe old age of twenty one !!
@beryl goodness Beryl that was a ripe old age....a luck cat to come to your door!!! Lily was our son & Dils cat but was born in our house the day after we moved to this farm so more or less lived in either house. She came to live with us permanently when they emigrated to NZ...took the dog but left the cat!
Oh bless her - that's really a twist - but so long as a cat can find a warm spot in the sun and a lap to sit on it's a good life. Must have frightened Harry to death with that milking incident - I can imagine the yowling.
@happypat At least she had the sense to come back. We had a rescue cat who tried to get back to us after a road accident but there was a terrible thunder storm and although I thought I heard a miaow and my dad searched the garden she didn't get over the fence and the neighbour found her (too late) in the morning - heart break all round!!
Brave Lily, she must love you dearly coming back after the accident with her tail, if she made it to 14 with the spine in such a condition she'll go on for many more years
@floralchick hehehe in all fairness Mum she did come to live with you for 2 years prior to us moving to NZ! She packed her bags and left us when we brought the dog home! She was not impressed at all with Izzy!!x x x x
