Great capture & I thought it was Postman Pat & his little black cat !! Jesting aside -- a lovely rural setting with those gorgeous stone walls and a pop of red as the post van goes on his merry way !
ahhhh Pat...seeing this shot just puts the "postman pat" tune in my head :) ...super rural shot ...my dad was a rural postie ....delivering parcels and letters to all the farmers up in Belmont
@phil_howcroft funny how a postman in any country is interesting to look at. I love the green vans in Ireland & they also have green I think in NZ too. I think a postmans life is pretty good, early start but of course things might not be as easy as it looks...someone will probably tell me!!
@happypat agreed Pat...i like the yellow 'la poste' pillar boxes and vans in France :) ...but i do like a vibrant red royal mail box...i do hope they don't privatise the post office delivery service....I was a 'temporary christmas postie' when they used to hire students at christmas to cope with the extra load
Not sure how it is over there, but here in the States they have been contemplating cutting back on home delivery, another change to get used to if that comes by the way
Great shot - even though no one writes snail mail letters anymore, and the postman only brings junk mail and bills, I still get excited about the particular sound of his truck at my mailbox.
You still get rural delivery! That is so good. They are talking about getting rid of it here.
