Wild Geese.

A sure sign of winter on it's way.......the geese are on the move.
We live in a coastal area & at this time of the year we always get masses of geese in V formations travelling north or south, these were going north.

They land on Pilling sands & in the estuaries around the coastline.

You can hear them coming almost before you see them.....I love to see them flying high.

Great in large - so evocative of this time of year I watched swallows gathering in Croatia in early September looking ready to fly south. I hadn't thought of migration from such a warm place before.

great capture of the migration Pat, there's been a lot of movement round here too as we have marshlands nearby that collect seasonal birds!
