Balloons over Waikato

A very early start this morning to get to Hamilton Lake for the last day of Balloons over Waikato.

Unfortunately although it felt calm, dry & warm on the ground we could see the clouds racing along above us so none of the balloons actually took off.

Still it didn't matter as there was lots to see & we all enjoyed seeing th balloons come to life.

Lots of nevertheless shapes but I still liked the traditional ones in their bright colours.

Oh what a shame.. I had hoped to go this year but too much else on .. went last year and had the most perfect morning it would of been hard to beat.. but great to just see them like this anyway..

Shame they didn't take off after you got up early to go and watch. But the balloons are almost more impressive when they're close up on the ground.

@maggiemae we set off on Tuesday morning from Timaru Maggie & got back up to Ant & Jo's in Raglan on Friday afternoon so not too bad! We felt we had driven a long way!
