My daughter took this photo from the bridge over the M6 which is a major motorway running from the midlands to Scotland. Normally absolutely heaving on a Friday evening at 5pm this is how it looked tonight.
She had cycled to the post office on her bike....it’s eerily deserted.
Really spooky, even going for a walk around our village you see no cars or people. I had to visit our local hospital this week and there was actually parking to be had!! Every cloud as they say!
Wow quite spooky. I have never seen the M6 like this on a Friday evening before.
We used to travel up from Henlow in Bedfordshire to Mum's in Lancashire on a Friday evening when the girls were young and it used to take up about 8 hours sometimes on M1 and M6 to travel 200 miles. People used to live in London in those days during the week and travel home at the weekend.
Good to see it being taken seriously. Also lovely that the planet is getting a little breathing space to regenerate too. Birds can be heard more and the air is clearer. A scary reason but a good rest and recuperate time for many.
It is odd. I am sure things will be back to normal soon. I hope everyone is taking the time to rest and recover from the normal hectic day to day stresses.
Never seen the m6 like that..such a busy motorway
