Hervey Bay Bat Colony. No. 1 ~

Came upon this bat colony on our walk last night. Incredible sight, I shot way too many photos & had to choose two for posting.. At dusk they fly over Hervey Bay in their 1000's

Wow, so many bats. Glad they don't live too close to where you live. They look nice, but the smell of bat poo is awful. We go shopping sometimes at Raymond Terrace about 40 km away from us and there is a huge bat colony there, the smell is awful.

We saw thousands of bats flying over Kununurra at dusk. It was amazing, but getting close to the colonies by the river was not such a pleasant experience. They stank :)
