I'm glad you posted this Valerie. I've had the solid, dark pink version of this plant in my garden since the early 80s and have a soft spot in my heart for it. My husband's grandmother gave me a couple seeds to plant when we moved into our house and I didn't know what it was called. We jokingly call it MacDonald's Curse (after her) because every seed that falls, germinates and I'm forever weeding new seedlings from my garden.

@merrelyn Thanks Merrelyn...I found this flower at the community gardens & asked one of the workers there who kindly gave me some seed, she told me to plant them in pots around the garden as they attract the bees, do you find that ? I have not seen it before..

@happysnaps I've never noticed many bees around mine Valerie. The flowers are lovely but it can be a bit of a pest if the seeds get into your garden.
