I went to my new favorite store in Aachen today, the fair trade store. I checked out the coffee roasting they were doing at the time, which was cool but nothing too new for me as I'm already a coffee freak and have done a few roastery tours in chicago. They have this large array of cool ceramic holders for their different beans behind the counter. I am getting more comfortable being bold with my camera (thanks to the project and using it everywhere every day!) so I calmly stepped into a sort of behind the counter area next to these containers to get this shot I saw sitting there. No-one cared and I'm glad I am become more confident doing those sorts of things, as its probably not something I would have done three months ago.
Oh the photo caption is my translation of the german on the shopping bags this fair trade store has, I think its a great slogan.
That's a great slogan! Good for you for taking this shot! I just love how it turned out. I know I still sometimes hesitate to go for certain shots, but I'm getting better about it.
I love this photo and especially interested because I work in a coffee shop. Also related to your boldness about taking the photo..literally new steps...
Thanks for the inspiration of taking photos - that it does get easier! Also, I wonder if the impact of the photo would have changed if you had tilted the camera slightly? Especially with lines, its fun to experiment. Just a thought...
