I went to bed early tonight to listen to some CDs, only to realise that I no longer have a CD player in the bedroom, and, apparently, haven't had for some time. It is funny how times change - a few years ago it would have been unheard of in this family, but MP3 players, laptops, mobile phones, multimedia televisions etc have gradually squeezed them out. I dug around and found my old portable CD player in a draw and fired it up.
This is track 3 at 1 minute, 5 seconds of the Throwing Muses' eponymous first CD (Hate My Way), one of only a few CDs that I have not yet ripped to MP3. I haven't listened to Throwing Muses for a long long time. I still regret missing seeing them live with the Pixies back in around 1988 when some of my friends went. I can't remember why I didn't go.
