Rollright Stones

We went down to Witney today to visits Jan's Aunty Gwen. On the way back we took a small detour to the Rollright Stones.

I have driven past here so many times but I have only been to see them once before, and it must be some 30 years or more since then. As we drove past the end of the road I took the decision to have another look and swung around back to the junction.

Unfortunately, when we got there the heavens opened, so I got drenched, Ben and Jan got a bit wet and then gave up, and Sam didn't even try. I took quite a few photos but the light was dreadful, and half of them are junk from rain spots on the lens. This is one of the better ones. It would seem that the camera's weather proofing works though.
These are on the edge of my "patch" - I must get there too. Looks a good shot considering the conditions.

This really benefits from a close up view. These stones are quite fascinating, whereabouts are they? You have captured them well.

Great site. A Neolithic religious site is it? Nice image.
