Birmingham Library

I wandered around Birmingham today as Jan, Sam, Mollie and Jo went ot the theater. We met up back at the new library, and as I got there a little early I took some photos of the magnificent building. This is one of my favourites, showing the underground level, the steps up to the main entrance, with the city skyline reflected in the glass doors, and, of course, part of the building architecture at the top.
LoB is in my top 10 favourite UK buildings. You've caught the layers really well here, as well as the skyline behind you. Nice work.

Long time, no see photo, Tom. This is so unlike the library when I was in Brum - I remember an orange carpeted multistorey car park with books in

@annemary I am still here! lost heart a bit when I missed a few days so the latter part of last year was sketchy. Thought I would give it another go this year, but then broke my camera on 3rd January, and now have the dilemma of sending it for repair, or limping on with Manual focus on all but 1 lens.

Birmingham library changed dramatically last year when the new library open. It is a vast improvement on the old one, inside and out, although having spent many an hour in the old library over the years I have a soft spot for it. It was pretty ugly, but it is a good example of late 60's/early 70's architecture that we are in danger of destroying all examples of as fashions change.

@pjtphoto Thanks Peter. It really is a lovely building, and I was a bit lucky to have grabbed my son's camera as I left the house otherwise I wouldn't have got anything.

@harveyzone I managed to complete year one but not strictly one photo taken on each day, I am now addicted but not going to put pressure on for every day in 2014 - good luck with what ever you decide
