For the last 18 years, since his death, fans use this day, the anniversary of his birthday, to celebrate the life and works of Douglas Adams.
He was an author who was of great influence on me during my formative years. His early death in 2001 was a shock to me and many other fans who were eternally awaiting the long delayed publication of his never finished (or barely started), mythical, 'Salmon of Doubt'.
I still like to think of myself as a hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is.
