Harvest Time! by hbdaly

Harvest Time!

Behold! Our mighty crop has come in...

(Yes - this is the whole thing... If you remember our corn conundrum from earlier in the summer you will probably see that we are ridiculously excited to even have this much!! Best crop yet! :)
a veritable feast! :)

Did you have help from neighbors and friends bringing in the harvest? ;-)))
You have to start somewhere, and homegrown food is the BEST! I once grew a pea-plant (which I'm sure is not called that, that would be too sad) and my harvest consisted of 3 peas! I did cook them and enjoyed the rich little taste of them!
I now have two strawberry-plants in my backyard and I think I must have had 10 or so strawberries this summer.I just ate them right off the plant,as a snack. still, it's great to grow your own, who knows what great harvest you'll have next year!!!

I had to go back and see the pic of the protected corn plant to refresh my memory. I think you are very lucky to have had cross pollination from two corn stalks and to have two ears. Congratulations. Are you going to can some of the blueberries? :-)

Yes Ray, I was amazed we had any corn from the two stalks let alone two (potentially) edible ones. I'll keep you posted on that one! ;) So far there haven't been enough blueberries to can. But that is probably because I have made them my yard snack and just sort of graze on them as I putter around the yard. It is just lovely!
