Today was the first day of summer vacation and it was without a doubt a total stinker!! The weather was rainy and gross and we were car-less since the family truckster was in the shop primping for our upcoming vacation to Vermont. The garage is only about a mile from our house and although Mother Nature was not cooperative with my plans for us all to walk over and pick the car up when it was ready, we decided to forge ahead anyway. (It had been a LONG day stuck in the house together!!) I told them all to make like ducklings and follow me closely. It worked *most* of the time. Although I wouldn't mind not having to do that walk with the kids ever again.... But here's to adventures on a rainy day!! Whaddya know, we didn't melt! :-)
