Michael's 3rd grade class has a fund raising dinner every year to fight hunger. All the kids get to paint their own bowl and at the dinner they get to eat out of it and then take it home. Michael was a big fan of his bowl - not so much the soup that came in it - but we had a good time nonetheless. Any good time that also helps a good cause is good by me... :-)
Please tell Michael that I LOVE the bowl he painted! What a marvelous fund raising idea! I've been to something similar on a college campus where you picked a bowl made by a ceramics student & it was filled with chili. I love te bowls I got in the past, and remember the fun I had that day. I hope Michael will also!
@Weezilou@chard I did think it was a little strange that the kids are basically buying their own bowls - but I figured it was probably because most 9 year olds don't really want to part with their hard work! :)
