David got a nice new camera for Christmas (which means he should restart his 365 project any day now, right?! Hint...hint....;) Today I was moving slow and finishing my tea at the kitchen table looking out at the mystery snow (nobody mentioned it would be coming...well, not to me anyway!) The birds were in their glory in the snow and with our newly refilled feeders so I decided to start playing around with the camera. I had a lot of fun zooming in and focusing and crazy things like that that an iPad doesn't let you do.... It still didn't help my photographic skills much - but I did manage to catch this little guy that I thought was just another downy or hairy woodpecker. We get them at our suet block a lot. But David (the resident critter expert) saw it and said it was most likely a red-bellied woodpecker, which are a little bit more rare. Not the bird shot of the year, I know. But considering I was sitting on my duff in the comfort of my cozy kitchen when I took it, I'm pretty happy with it!! :-)
Absolutely beautiful! It's the diversity of the photography around here that matters... So let's go see how many "red-Bellied Woodpeckers" *others* have photographed!

@hbdaly Oh Holly...what a good friend you are...Lunenburg neighbo(u)rs, sorta! Well, here's the joke... Ken knows I told both our girls that I'd use the current Shutterfly offer to make them calendars...and the way I do it, of course, isn't "fast"! So after dinner, (where he referred to me as The Earl of Sandwich, moving from my computer to eat and back to the task at hand...) he kept looking over my shoulder, saying, "That doesn't look like Shutterfly..." So...if I don't get distracted again, I'm off to start collecting photos for calendars... Oh, and by the way, all I did was to click on your tag and snag the number after looking at the first one posted... But thanks for making me smile...you always do!
