For the last few weeks, my son Michael has devoted way too much of his time into efforts to sneak up behind me and scare the heck out of me. I'm not sure why, really. Although it probably has something to do with the fact that, to date, he hasn't really been able to do it. For one thing, his Ninja skills are terrible. He thunders into the room, sees me then tries to tiptoe out so he can tiptoe back in and surprise me. He doesn't seem to realize that nothing sets off Mom's High Alert faster than when it suddenly gets quiet!! His other problem is that I am just not that jumpy a person. So even if he did manage to scare the bejeezus out of me, he may never know because it wouldn't show on my face. The poor kid - I do have to admire his persistence. Although I'm starting to feel a little like Inspector Clouseau - always waiting for his houseboy Kato to attack him...
Recently he added the homemade Ninja mask to his efforts. I think he thought it might help his stealth. It didn't.... It didn't help his cracker eating skills much either! Love that kooky boy.... :-)
