Mike's Lemonade Stand is still going strong. And he has managed to build up quite the customer base with the Cops and Firefighters in town. (It helps that the station is right down the block so we get a lot of them going by during the day.) Today an ambulance stopped and put its lights on - man, do the kids love that! :-) I have taken to trying to get sneaky shots out the front window so I don't get yelled at for messing with the business mojo....
As I was taking this shot, I noticed something looked a little strange. It looked like flames were being reflected onto the side of the ambulance. Turns out that is exactly what it was! The exhaust pipe, which is on the side of the ambulance, managed to set fire to the dead leaves and plants at the bottom of the embankment. It didn't show well in the picture, but if you look closely in front of the rear tire, you can see a strange orange glow. And as you can see, this is also the exact moment the paramedics realized it too. They quickly moved the truck and stomped out the fire so no harm, no foul. In fact, the only thing they managed to burn was our unrelenting poison ivy patch. I told them they were welcome to come back and do that anytime.... Our adventure for the day. :-)
