Now we knew we were going to be in KL for quite some time, we relocated from the airport hotel to one downtown. It was a short walk from the hotel to the famous Petronas twin towers - which were the tallest buildings in the world until 2004. They are still the tallest twin buildings. But there are so many other tall buildings all around them, that you don't really get an impression of just how high they are.
There is a skybridge partway up, but we were too late to get tickets. Instead we admired from outside, and then found ourselves in the biggest shopping mall I have ever seen, which seems to have been built around the base of the towers. My guys are allergic to shopping unless it involves electronics/computers, so once we'd visited the Apple store and perused the DVDs, they were ready to head back to the pool! Maybe I'll have to go back on my own some time and check out the designer handbags!
