Sometimes life is a bowl of cherries

Especially when you can pick the sour cherries before the squirrels get them. This is the first year ever the little darlings have not stripped the tree bare, which is surprising as there seem to be more squirrels than ever about. Now to make sour cherry ripple ice cream.

Yum! These are gorgeous. My friend in Norway always laments the fact that their sour cherries get eaten by the birds (or maybe it's squirrels or even deer). I'll tell her to keep looking this year.
