"...and that my little canine friends is why cats will rule the world for evAHHH....moo ha ha...."
On our walk this afternoon the dogs suddenly darted off in a frenzy of excitement - the kind that usually means they've chased a squirrel up a tree. I looked up into the tree they were barking up/pacing around/throwing themselves against, and there was no sign of a squirrel. Turning to walk away, I saw this guy a VERY long way up the neighbouring tree, and pointed out to the dogs that they were perhaps letting the side down for their entire species (and border collies are meant to be the smart ones) by barking up the wrong tree (and that must be where that phrase comes from!). They immediately began to bark/ pace around/throw themselves at this tree instead, while the cat looked down on them with pure, undiluted contempt.
I did check on the way back to make sure he'd got down okay. Of course, he had - he's a cat, after all!
Yes the cats are the cunning ones, its funny I have a picture I took a few days ago that I was going to put on today, of Snowy part way up a tree with the cat sitting at the top watching his pathetic attempts until I saw the red sky this morning.
Priceless caption, darling picture, and a wonderful way with words! I had to read it aloud to Ken, sitting across the room, and I prefaced it with, "This lady's a writer..." so I put all the inflections in the right places! What a delight! Thanks, too for the baby congratulations...now I know how your mother feels about your boys!
unfortunately the dog v cat battle here seems to be tipping in the dogs direction. Either the thai cats are not as smart as english ones or we just have a very clever dog.
