Lovely Literary Lunch by helenmoss

Lovely Literary Lunch

The height of decadence! I spent the day with a group of friends attending two talks at Cambridge Wordfest Literary festival, with lunch in between. We saw Allison Pearson in conversation with Rebecca Stott and then Armistead Maupin with Patrick Gale, Both talks were funny and interesting and thought-provoking. I was too busy scoffing and chatting to take a good picture at lunch, but snapped this out through the restaurant window as we left. The ladies in red and grey coats to the right are two of my friends. The restaurant looks out over the bridge and the river. It was a bitterly cold frosty day - I think the snowflakes on the window and pine wreath on the door give it a Christmassy feel, in keeping with the cold weather, even though it's a bit early...
Sounds like you have had an interesting day Helen. I do like this picture it does have a Christmassy feel to it

This sounds like my sort of day! I go to as many writers festivals as possible and you've caught the cold, Christmassy feel beautifully here. Everyone seems to be getting into the seasonal feel early this year.

Jealous, jealous, jealous. Armistead Maupin - I hope he didn't disappoint! That looks such a lovely, crisp, cold exterior.

@karenball he was great - so charming and funny - some of my friends hadn't read any of his books and they still loved him!
