We took a trip on a motorboat through the reed beds and shallows of the Nile near Aswan. This old man was happily fishing with a stick and a piece of twine. A moment after I took this picture, he caught a very large Nile perch and he held it up proudly for us all to photograph.
We spent much of this trip looking out for the dangerous "water rabbits" that our guide had warned us about. It came as something of a disappointment when we discovered that he'd been talking about "rapids" all along.
