Today in the United States, we celebrate Earth Day. It was started on April 22, 1970 - my first year teaching. The school I was teaching at was selling arm bands as a fund raiser to buy trees to plant on Arbor Day. As you can see I have kept mine. The banner was made for me also that year by some of my siblings who are over a decade younger. I was also given Woodsy as a present. So help Support Your Local Planet, it is the only one we all live on. Best Viewed Large

Very cool Harry. I was in 6th grade for the first Earth Day. I do not remember what our school did for Earth Day, but I do remember it being a big deal back then.
