@grannysue Thank you Linda, normally they do here, but he didn't @pwallis Thank you Paula, this was my backup photo :) @pamfromcalgary Thank you Pam, now if only his friends would also cooperate :)
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie, the ones around here tend to get quite large @webfoot Thank you Paul, he was just showing off his chest :) @orangecrush Thank you Jerry, I guess the diet he gets from the lawn agrees with him :)
The robin wanted to be famous and get his picture taken!
Last year we had sparrows building a nest in our tree. Some bully birds came to disrupt the nest but the robin who also lived in that tree swopped down and chased the bully bird away. They are good friend birds to have around (if your a sparrow that is).
Great capture! I once had a discussion with someone who told me this bird was a robin and I told her it wasn't. It turns out that the Dutch (European?) robin is very different from the American one :-)
@peterdegraaff Thank you Peter, yes he was :) @myhrhelper Thank you Kathy, that must be it, he did show me his good side :) @naomi Thank you Naomi, I like birds, but find it hard to get there photos @bruni Thank you Bruni, andytime a bird ignores me I will take its photo
@stiggle thank you Anja, based on your comment, I did some quick research - the american robin is about twice the sizeof the european robin and their colouring is different the one I captured is a typical american one. Thanks for allowing me to learn :) @netkonnexion Thank youDamon, probably his lady friend was looking on :) @5unflow3r Thank you Trina, I was surprised at how long he stayed
