In the Aviary

Went back to Brookgreen Gardens today. Besides the statuary and flowers, they also have an aviary that has local birds in it. Went inside and this fellow (I think iti si a type of a heron) was near the walkway.

It's long beak looks like a herons but his feathers look like a hawk! Be interested if anyone can identify. You did zoom, didn't you?

@kerristephens Thank you Kerri, I found the aviary full of neat birds, but this is the one I could get closest to
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie, based on the beak and legs is why I think it is a heron, hopefully someone can tell us what type and yes I zoomed in

Harry I googled Black-crowned Night Heron and found one that looks just like yours.Robert sent me the following he said: it looks like an immature Black-crowned Night Heron. Nice shot. don't know if you get his reply to me on your page. would be interesting to find out..can you let me know please.
