On Antelope Island, we only saw one antelope, but several hundred bison. Even though I was using a 70 - 300 mm lens [this was at 86 mm], I got to close to them according to Gail [this is not cropped]

Love the Bison! We a large Buffalo farm here on the west side of Michigan. It's so cool to go by when they have the babies in the fields. So cute! Nice shot!
When I was in Yellowstone, the rule of thumb with any wildlife is, if you cause they to alter what they're doing, cause them to move, etc., you are too close. I was there, I was taking photos of a moose in the Yellowstone River. There was a guy down below on the river bank walking closer to the moose, which was hip deep in the water feeding. All of a sudden, the moose stopped, turned its head and just stared at the guy. I figured, I quickly shoot a couple of shots and get the heck out of Dodge.
@camisze Thank you Cathy, they are so big and cool looking @ruthmouch Thank you Ruth, I was surprised by how many are on the island roaming free @scooter Thank you Scooter, they are neat looking animals @peterdegraaff Thank you Peter, I have never seen so many so close before - it was great
