Who are those masked boys? by homeschoolmom

Who are those masked boys?

My sons are heading out with my husband to start shoveling. First they have to go to our friends' house and get his snow blower (and clean his driveway because he's out of town), then clean off his friend's driveway (a 97-year-old lady), then come do ours. They are going to be busy today. But, since our friend lets us borrow his snowblower (instead of buying one for the year we are up here), it's the least they could do. Good way to put our Boy Scouts to work.

Right after I took this picture, my older son came into the garage and said, "Mom, pull my pants leg down for me!" LOL! He forgot to pull his snow pants down when he put his boots on. They are 11 and almost 14 and I still have to help them zip everything up. Except now it's because they have on giant gloves.
Nice shot! That splash of fiery, fluorescent orange is wonderful. It's nice to see that they are doing some good in the neighbourhood.

@steampowered Thanks! They are putting their hunting clothes to good use this winter! LOL!

@homeschoolmom Hopefully hunters don't wear fluorescent balaclavas. What a giveaway that would be!

@steampowered Deer can't see orange!

@homeschoolmom What about bear? ;o)

@steampowered My husband said he doesn't think bear can see colors either. It's mostly so they are visible to other hunters.

That's sweet that they look after the older lady and take care of her driveway too. My boys are the same (12, 10, 7) and I still zip things up too and it's because of the big gloves too! You guys got a lot of snow!

@jenp It's looking like about 9 inches at the moment. Hard to tell. We already had snow on the ground.

I could have used you for that too and I'm 66. I forgot to put my slacks in my boots the second time I went out. This is almost like those cold selfies that people are posting.

Wow, till they get to the snow blower they will be tired
February 6th, 2014
Oh boy, Such an enormous task for them.

@joansmor They weren't cold. They were dressed too hot. The second time they didn't wear their coats.
@mittens @bill_fe Thanks!
@digitalrn Na, they shoveled the walk, then went to get the snow blower. After lunch, my husband used the snow blower to clear our driveway. The boys kept getting distracted and playing in the snow piles. They finally came in after it got completely dark. LOL! They would have stayed out later if their snow tunnel hadn't collapsed on stop of them! LOL! They love being outside.

@pixiemac It's blindingly white! LOL! You should see it when the sun is out. You need sun glasses.
@olivetreeann Between Boy Scouts and hunting with my husband, they definitely have the cold weather gear for this.
