After 3 days of fairly heavy rain, and 6 feet of recently melted snow, the ground can absorb no more water, especially in areas near the numerous wetlands around town. Tonight we saw a flooded trailer court and this flooded street near the town fire department. Nothing too bad, but slowing down the already slow-moving traffic through town. I took the bottom picture on my iPhone when we pulled over to switch drivers and the top one while my daughter was driving through her first flooded street. What an adventure! LOL! Not much excitement on a Monday night in a quite little town.
@luvmynynix@deburahiru@swilde Thanks! As long as we don't get any more rain, it shouldn't be too bad. Just a few spots in town, mostly because we live in an area that has a lot of natural wetlands.
@kathysview Thanks, me too. But, not all of the snow has melted yet, so it might be a while. @digitalrn I'm not sure how much rain we've gotten over the past 3 days, but we are finding every low spot in town.
@sarasdadandmom Thankfully, the rain has stopped and all of the wetlands have gone back to looking like small ponds again. River and creeks are still up some, but today was a beautiful day....all dry roads.
@debihas27 It's been a crazy winter and land this close to the ocean just can't hold any more water. Hope your flooding is minor and over quickly, like ours was.
