Red barns making way for a Pottery Barn by homeschoolmom

Red barns making way for a Pottery Barn

Today, I took advantage of the boys being away at Boy Scout camp to take some photos I've been wanting to get for the past year. And just in time. This piece of property just outside of town has been rezoned from agricultural to commercial. Soon, everything on this property will probably be torn down, including the big old trees, to make way for some new giant box store. In a way, I find that really sad, as most of the buildings on this property are still in pretty good shape, considering they have sat empty for nearly a year. The three sister barns across the back of the property are in great shape. I think they are still in use.

Very nicely presented - your title is excellent. We're going through the same thing here - all our beautiful rural areas are becoming concrete jungles.

I understand. I am a developer's daughter but I still love these barns.

@linnypinny Thankfully, Central NC has a long way to go to be a concrete jungle. The other day, Walmart bought some land in a town below us, moved the house on it across the highway. Must have been some prime land to get them to move a huge house, probably 4000 sq feet. Thanks for the fav!
@elisasaeter @memoriesbydawn Thanks!
@danette I love barns, especially red ones! LOL!

Progress? I think not - great images and pleased you have captured them.

@dide Thanks. One of my friends from church saw these pictures on Facebook. She knows the family who used to live there when she was a kid (she used to play there and chase the cows through the fields). She's going to forward them my pictures.
