My Get Pushed challenge this week is to photograph something German that is part of our everyday life. We have tons of souvenirs and artwork from our 49 months there. My husband has always says, "I don't want to just have a painting of flowers or a bowl of fruit on my wall. I want our artwork to mean something." Here is some of our favorite artwork from our years in Germany - a pencil drawing of Neuschwanstein Castle, Schloss Mespelbrunn in lace, "Give us this day our daily bread" plaque, and the paper cutting of Fortress Marienberg and the Saints Bridge. The top right is my favorite though. Its one pictures from 3 large collages I have of halftone pictures from the newspaper I worked for. This one is of Bavarian Prime Minister Max Streibl giving an award to two of our military policemen in 1991. I went all the way to Munich to take that picture.
