Today, I picked up a present for my husband. He has wanted one of these flags for years. They are handmade locally from bourbon, whiskey or wine barrels. He made the promotion list, so he will be promoted this summer. Not sure when yet, but I wanted to have this in plenty of time. The top pic is the store where I picked it up. I love the colored flags. They aren't painted, but it's made from various wine barrels. The bottom is the one I got him, along with the stand. I only got the 24 inch flag. They are very expensive. The biggest flags cost nearly $1000 for the colored versions. YIKES! Plus, I don't think I could have carried the bigger one out to my car. Even the small one is heavy.
I have seen some like this around and like them very much. I especially like the colored ones (of course - I'm a champagne taste on a beer budget kind of woman). I think he will be very pleased with his gift. Congratulations on his promotion.
