I wondered when the house finches would be back at their nests. I hadn't noticed them, but my son told me they were back. Their nest is above the door of our screened in porch, so we can see them from the porch. Mama was feeding her babies while papa kept watch toward the yard. They flew away when I opened the kitchen door, but I was able to get papa sitting on the fence still keeping an eye on the grandbirdies.
