wood

The high and middle schools had early dismissal, so Nadya (my oldest) and I could visit another hardwood store for her marimba project. We now have been to 3 dealers and she knows now where she wants buy her wood.
However, she is not sure which wood as the price difference between Bubinga and Honduras Mahogany is not really big, so she wants to make test bars of either one. That is great to because this way she can learn how to use the tools...
Oh my .... so many different types of wood....what a hard choice to make... but how clever to want to make test pieces first! and yes, it will give her the experience too. I am kind of drawn to the Burma teak or the Afromosia, based purely on the colour and beautiful lines. The cypress is nice as well, but too light I think.

@stephanies & @linnypinny On the internet and in her book they give a quite detailed description for the type of wood she could use. With the prices in mind the choice is not that hard.
This dealer could not saw the wood in strips, so that made the choice for a dealer easier...
