Before & After Spray Paint

The resonators on marimbas are metal. Nadya's are PVC pipe, but look just like the ones at school after spray painting them gold!
I can't believe all the work she has done on this project - is it for a graded assignment Ingrid?

The main thing is writing a report. That report will be graded.
Unfortunately she found out Saturday, when picking up her schedule, that she missed the first deadline. The deadline for the finished product was today. She is almost there, just need to drill 2 holes in each of the 52 bars and string it together. This is also her supervisors mistake, because she should have communicated that deadline before. And when you see the amount of work she did I don't think there is a problem. Due to band (the last 3 weeks she has hardly been home) she is also a little behind on her blog, but if you are interested, this is the link: http://marimba-personalproject.blogspot.com/

I looked at the blog, so interesting!. The pictures really pull the project together - what a lot of work has gone into this. I see the total cost was $200.96 for the materials. How much would a new marimba cost to buy? I certainly hope she is not penalised for her supervisors mistake! That would be very unfair. @ingrid01

I believe the $200.96 was just the start (only the bars). Her budget was $800.00 and she stayed within the budget, but wasn't far off.
She also bought the spindle sander which was about $150 and is included in her total cost. All the PVC pipe and the metal rails weren't cheap either, not to mention the wood for the frame and all the paint... But when you want to buy a 4.3 octave marimba, you are looking at at least $2500 !
By the way she earned all the money herself by baby and pet-sitting during the holiday and she started teaching piano. At this moment she has 2 students!
