Hands on Science

Today the 5th graders at my daughters school had Hands on Science. This is a program led by PTA and parents to get the kids interested in science and have fun. Today we talked about energy and burnt food - a peanut has a lot more energy/fuel than an M&M for example. In the end the volunteer who teaches the class brought his "Wimshurst machine" It creates lightning and quite a few kids where brave enough to touch it.
Crumbs, how exciting, I wish our science lessons were like this...

@stephanies & @gaylewood - Hands on Science is very very exciting! Also for the parents (like myself) who help out. I'm very happy that we could start it at our school. A few month ago I went to another school to see when they dissected cow's eyes. We are going to do that next month... so be aware... Not too sure if that will give exciting pictures though ;)
