Rango by ingrid01

Rango

This morning walking with the dogs I saw a Texas Coral snake. Because it was sliding around for a little while, I called my daughter to bring my camera. Unfortunately when she arrived the snake was gone (went into the ground), but I still had my camera.
So you captured your gorgeous boy instead. He reminds me so much of my Roddy, his ears would hang back like that, and he would drool for England too. I miss him so much. Is the snake harmless?

I understand that you miss Roddy @stephanies. I cannot imagine not having Rango - he is my loving bodyguard (always close)
The snake is venomous and according to many sources their venom is highly toxic. However, due to the size of the snake (18 - 20 inch long), but very slender it is unlikely they bite humans.
A reptile person at a party a few years back assured us that it was generally to hard for them to open their mouths wide enough to bite a human. He said the only place to get bitten is between your toes or fingers, but when you wear shoes and don't pick them up you should be good.

Oh that is interesting info, I had to google this snake, they are quite interesting looking aren't they? with the bands of colour! Hope you get to see another sometime and can photograph it.

@stephanies - because I worked so many hours in April and May and had enough pocket-money to buy a new smaller camera!!! It should come tomorrow! I'm hoping I can take it with me whilst walking the dogs and of course I'm hoping for a snake to turn up!!! Took a photo with my iPhone and have evidence for my family that I saw the snake, but it is so blurry that I will not post it.
