My daughter Yelena learns very easy, so all subjects at school are easy. She surprised me by taking "wood shop" as an elective. For her this is a challenging class working with big saws and power-tools. Her first project was a little chicken. She was the last to make it, but did it in the end. The last week at school she told me she did something very special, but could not tell me what it was. Last Saturday she gave me this turkey! One side is painted the other side is stained. She made it herself and I'm super proud!
Oh how great! He’s a wonderful turkey, you will treasure him always. Through the years she will be so glad she took that class. How to handle power tools safely is something everyone should learn.
@onewing Thank you Babs! Although my daughter made it, it is due to the very awesome teacher. I'm not sure why, but every time I'm at school I walk into him. He is super relaxed, but easily controls a big class with mainly boys (12 - 14yr olds) and has time for everyone. The ones who are afraid to cut their fingers (like Yelena), are pushed in a nice way to be safe and just do it.
@louannwarren@henrir Thank you for all your comments on all of my posts!
I will definitely treasure this turkey! And think back what a great electives and teachers they had at this middle school!
