Clouds! by ingrid01

Clouds!

Yesterday, Yelena noticed the clouds and called me to see the beautiful sunset. We run up to our roof and I took a few pictures, but had forgotten to put the ISO back after the recital the day before...

Anyway, it is what it is and that is the same with the news we got today...

Nadya took a rapid test and tested negative! Yeah! But unfortunately that is all the good news I have :(

Today she would take another PCR test and we were hoping she could fly tomorrow. However, this afternoon (very early morning in the States) the news came that as from 1am on Tuesday Oman closes its borders. Initially for 1 week. I looked if it was possible to fly out today, but it was not possible.

We sent a message to Nadya to call us when she woke up. I was getting Yelena from a friend so my husband told her the bad news.
I phoned her later. This is such a big bummer, but she took it very well.

If borders open after this week, she will still be able to come. And if it will be after New years eve she would like to start the next semester at the university. Getting her books etc and might then come for some time in the end of January.

As she said there are worse things. Everybody is healthy and we still have an income. We are just split up...

A lovely capture, Ingrid, but not lovely news...sorry to hear that the family cannot be together this week but the positive attitude is inspiring. I tell myself everyday that if my mom and sister are well then nothing else is important. Blessings to you all this week ♥

Beautiful sky. Sorry to hear your holiday plans have been altered. We are planning a quiet Christmas with just the two of us. Two local friends of ours have had their Christmas plans halted because of border closures, so as they both live alone they are coming to us for Christmas day instead. I am sure we will have a lovely time even though their original plans went pear shaped. Hope Nadia can visit soon. Plans change so rapidly during Covid and it would be awful for her to visit and not able to return.

Fabulous sky. If you listen to the U.K. news you may believe that we are the only country with problems. Sorry to hear that you cannot be with your daughter. Hopefully you will be reunited sooner rather than later.

Oh dear. I’m so glad she tested negative. She sounds very level headed, taking this latest bump in the road in stride!

Dramatic sky capture. Covid has ruined everyone's expectations and plans. Nowadays we are thankful for being alive.
