We did a good coastal walk today to the most westerly point on mainland Wales, looking out to Bardsey Island.
The island has been a place of pilgrimage for over a thousand years and still attracts people who go there for retreats. It's only a mile long and half a mile wide and just 2 miles from the mainland but is a tricky place to get to because of dangerous currents that prevent the boat from crossing. From where we were today though it looked deceptively easy to get to!
Although the weather was rather cloudy the visibility was quite good and we could see the mountains in Ireland from the top of this hill.
We're away for a few days so have limited time to catch up here but I do appreciate all your comments, thank you :-)
Beautiful shot. Sounds like crossing to Fingal Island here in NSW. Many people have drowned trying to cross over to the island across the sandbar spit. They don't appreciate how treacherous the tides are and think they can wade back to the mainland after the tide has turned.
