Top o' the mornin' to ya!

Given our past history with sneaky leprechauns turning our milk green, The Mighty Finn set his leprechaun trap in front of the refrigerator last night. At some point during the dark hours before the dawn of St. Patrick's Day, a suspected leprechaun made his way into the trap, chewed right through the gold candy wrapper and took his fair share of chocolate. He then pocketed the gold coin that was left behind as bait and snuck out of the trap. It was an apparent close call for our little leprechaun friend because the box that had been propped up in hopes of catching him was laying flat this morning when we tip-toed upon it. Finn knelt down and slowly lifted the box for a peek. when he discovered what had happened he sat back and evaluated the situation, making obvious mental notes on how to improve the trap for next year.

Leprechaun hunters work up the heartiest of appetites so, when the mental note taking was done, we turned to the fridge to grab some milk for the Lucky Charms I had purchased yesterday. Squeals of delight filled the air at our discovery. It turns out that the trap did not thwart our leprechauns plans at all because there, on the middle shelf, sat a gallon of green milk.

As I write this, the squeals of delight have turned to gasps of horror. A special thanks to the husband who just pointed out the green food coloring stains on my hands and then questioned, "Why does mom have leprechaun blood on her hands??"

*sigh*
Funny story to go with the interesting image. I wonder what green milk tastes like???
