I remember when I was little, when the air was warm and I was lost in the carefree splendor of childhood. I would start to get a sinking feeling as the sun got lower in the sky because I knew my mom would soon be calling me to come inside. I remember watching it fall and wishing that I could somehow catch it and toss it back up to where I longed for it to stay.

The weather has been fabulous here the last few days and my kids have been enjoying the fresh warm air. I was sitting outside with them this evening and caught myself watching that glowing ball in the sky as it sunk lower and lower. Just as it was about to fall behind the houses, I asked Gracie to reach up and hold the sun up for me. She turned and gave me a questioning look before she noticed my camera in my hands. They know, when mom has her camera, just do what she says. ;) So, she turned, reached up and put her hands into perfect position on the first try. I have a feeling that, somehow, I am not the only one that has ever tried to catch the sun.
