You may recall, on day 78, when I had a go at getting a shot of the "Super Moon". And you may recall that it was a complete failure. I'll admit, I've been holding a grudge against the moon since then, turning up my nose at it with each glance. "Pshh. Freaking moon."
So, tonight (or this morning, depending on how you look at it) there was supposed to be a splendid meteor shower. I set my alarm for 3 a.m. and when woke up and looked outside, I thought I had over slept. It was waaaay too bright to be 3 a.m. Taylor wanted to view the meteors with me so I woke her up and we went outside to discover a freakishly bright Freaking Moon. So bright, in fact, that it made for watching meteors pretty useless. Taylor went back to bed while I played with my camera some. I was determined to even the score with the Freaking Moon. I sat down, armed with 147 more days of experience and took my best shot. It's far from the best moon photo that I have ever seen and I am still on my quest to do better but, compared to day 78, I think I did okay. Although, I AM pretty bummed about the meteor shower. ......Freaking moon....
This is a great shot of the moon, with so much detail. I tried to take a photo of the moon that night too, and got nothing! I'm surprised at how much light you had (looking at your settings!). I have a clear lens protector on my lens and I couldn't get it off so I had a ghosting effect!!! I will try again another day (or night!). Freaking moon!!!
@beastman Thank you! @hagscat Thank you! I know what you mean. I had the moon and a rainbow on my must have list. I still want to get better shot of the moon but I am more satisfied now. Next on my list is someting with sunflowers. Oh, and one of those water crowns. ;) @kiwichick Thank you! I was surprised at how much detail there was. It's not even what I set out to shoot. @hagscat Thank you! I know what you mean. I had the moon and a rainbow on my must have list. I still want to get better shot of the moon but I am more satisfied now. Next on my list is someting with sunflowers. Oh, and one of those water crowns. ;)
