"Comrades"

Sofi came into our lives the night before I found out that I was pregnant with my 10th child. I will be the first to admit that I freaked the freak out. I may not have shown it but I was all kinds of crazy on the inside. But, we survived the destruction of personal property and human brain cells that puppyhood and newborns bring. Sofi still has her moments but, don't we all?

As Sofi grew and put on weight....so did I. I was pregnant, so, that was a given but once baby was born, my weight decided to change up the game plan from years and babies prior. Instead of melting away, it clung to me for dear life.

Sofi's last visit to the vet left her feeling less that attractive as the vet told her that she was too big around the chest. Personally, I thinks she just takes after me. However, the vet insisted that she lay off the doggie bon bons and lose some weight.

On July 4th of this year, I decided to claim my own Independence Day....against fat. I set my mind to it and surged forth into battle with Sofi by my side. As of this morning, 12 weeks and 1 day later, I have run/walked off 35 lbs. And Sofi? Well, her bra size has gone down a whole 2 cup sizes.

(Me and Sofi this morning along one of our 2 miles routes.)

well done on your achievement and a lovely portrait of the pair of you running buddies :D

@cazink - Thanks! :D

@cortens - Thank you! My days start at 4:30 a.m. I would much rather be sleeping but this is something I have to do for me. And sleeping's not going to get me skinny. ;)
